Eoraptor (“dawn thief”) is thought to be one of the most primitive dinosaurs yet found. It may be a theropod and dates from the Late Triassic, about 225 million years ago. The remains were discovered in 1991 by Ricardo Martínez at Ischigualasto Provincial Park, San Juan Province, Argentina. The skeleton was almost complete, which is very rare, especially for such an early animal. Eoraptor was a little more than 3 feet (1 meter) long. |
