Pterodaustro guinazui

Reconstruction of Pterodaustro guinazui

Is this a dinosaur? Toymakers say yes, but scientists are split on this question. Two things are clear: pterosaurs were ruling reptiles as were the dinosaurs, and they did live at the same time as dinosaurs. Pterodaustro lived during the Lower Cretaceous, about 125 million years ago. It had long, thin, closely-spaced teeth. It is thought to have been a filter-feeder, much like baleen whales today.
